Christmas Chalkboard Ideas 2022. If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know how much I adore chalkboards! They have always been one of the first things I change up with each season, and I have a lot of fun figuring out what to draw on them. I am not an artist, therefore chalkboards are an excellent medium for me because they are so simple to erase and edit as you go! Don’t be afraid – even simple chalkboards may look lovely and be a lot of fun. If you still don’t want to give it a shot, there are printable chalkboard solutions!
Christmas Chalkboard Ideas
I’ve been busy preparing for our Christmas Home Tour next week (which I can’t wait to show you!) and thought I’d share a sneak peek of my Christmas chalkboards from this year. I’ve also included my chalkboards from last year as well as some of my favourite Christmas chalkboards that I’ve pinned throughout the years. I hope you appreciate them and are encouraged to decorate your home with some Christmas blackboard love.

I believe the chalkboards this year are really symbolic of our overall Christmas aesthetic – a little rustic with traditional splashes of red and white. For almost all of my chalkboards, I always start with a rough sketch on paper to get a better concept of the spacing and then very gently rough in a basic outline on the chalkboard. I’ll use a wet Q-tip to wipe anything that remains in the end, but most of it will be covered up by the finished design anyhow.
