Samsung Galaxy Fold is certified as ' Eye Comfort '

Samsung Galaxy Fold is certified as ‘ Eye Comfort ‘ – The evidence that the blue light emitted by displays – light in the range of 415 and 455 nanometers – is harmful continues to stack up, linked to a wide range of health conditions, from dry eyes to disruption of the circadian rhythm of the body.

Samsung took the fight against blue light seriously and worked to cut the amount emitted by the new Galaxy Fold display dramatically. OLED panels have a 12 percent blue light emission, rising to 18 percent for LCD displays.

Samsung reduced this emission to 7 percent for the Galaxy Fold. And succeeded in doing this while still meeting the optical color standard of DCI – P3. This has earned certification from the internationally recognized TÜV Rheinland for the Galaxy Fold the Eye Comfort.

Earlier this year, the Galaxy S10 line also received the Eye Comfort certification.

“OLED is setting the pace for change in smartphone design in a market where technical innovation is materializing at a remarkable pace as these foldable, full – screen displays prove,” said Jeeho Baek, Executive Vice President, Samsung Display Mobile Sales & Marketing Team.
