How to Identify If Your PS4 Data Is Corrupted?

It may be more clear at times that you have corrupted data on your PS4, but the symptoms can also take various forms. To begin, if you obtain a Corrupted Data error code, you have plainly corrupted data. However, there are situations when you have a problem and there is no error code indicating that this is the case.

Here are some more warning signs:

  • A game is slow or failing to load properly. Your internet connection is secure, and the disc is not scratched, but you continue to have issues.
  • Your PS4 moves slowly through menus and settings.
  • Even if the disc is not scratched, your PS4 will not read it.

If you’re encountering problems with your system after trying basic troubleshooting methods, it’s most likely due to corrupted data. Fortunately, the methods to fix the problem are straightforward.

How to Manually Locate and Delete Corrupted PS4 Game Files?

When you receive a corrupted data error page for saved game data or when the game icon displays a downward zigzag icon, the system recognises the file as corrupt and saves it in a separate folder. You may locate the file and manually remove it with a few simple steps. Here’s how to go about it.

  1. Navigate to System Storage Management in Settings.
  2. Go to Saved Data > Media Player now.
  3. There is a “corrupt data” file in the folder.
  4. Select the Options menu.
  5. To remove the corrupted file from your drive, click Delete.

The corrupted file should no longer appear when you reopen the media player folder. If the file came from a video game, reinstall it.

Manually Delete the Downloaded File on PS4
