Apple iPhone 16 Series Expected New Features. Following the successful debut of the iPhone 15 series in 2023, Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has reportedly begun working on new iPhone models, which are expected to appear in September 2024 with various new features and significant upgrades.
Apple iPhone 16 Series Expected New Features
According to MacRumors, the next iPhone 16 Pro will have a larger display of roughly 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have an even larger display of around 6.9 inches.
According to the rumour, Apple is mulling a design change for the main iPhone 16 models, possibly reverting to the vertical camera configuration seen in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 small. For the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, Apple employed a diagonal layout, and “it’s not entirely clear why Apple would revert, but one theory is that it could allow the devices to record spatial video for Apple Vision Pro,” according to MacRumors.
Furthermore, all iPhone 16 versions may contain a new physical “Capture Button,” but its use is yet unknown. The iPhone 16 Pro models are also expected to include an enhanced 48MP Ultra Wide camera capable of producing higher-resolution photographs with greater detail in 0.5X mode.
According to the rumour, the iPhone 16 Pro Max may be the first to include a super telephoto periscope camera with greatly improved optical zoom. Both iPhone 16 Pro versions are expected to contain 5x optical zoom, which is presently only available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
In 2024, regular iPhone 16 models may see the extension of the Action Button, which is now only present on iPhone 15 Pro models. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will almost certainly use an A17 chip, but it’s expected to be a different version than the A17 Pro chip seen in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max versions.
Furthermore, new Siri functions powered by huge language models are planned in iOS 18, but on-device AI features may remain unique to iPhone 16 models.
