How to Change Brightness on iPhone 13

How to Change Brightness on iPhone 13? iOS becomes increasingly powerful with each passing year. That means you have more options for doing a single action, which also applies to regulating the brightness of your screen. And, if we look at the iPhone 13 specifications, we can notice that its screen can be brighter than ever before. So, to get the most out of it, we’ll show you how to adjust the brightness on your iPhone 13.

How to Change Brightness on iPhone 13?

The information below applies to all iPhone 13 models (iPhone 13, Mini, Pro, and Pro Max). However, the methods below apply to previous iPhone models as well.

Method #1. Via Control Centre

We’ll start with the quickest way to adjust the brightness on your iPhone, which we believe you’ll use the most. So, here’s how it’s done using the Control Centre.

  1. Check that your iPhone’s screen is turned on (it can be locked or unlocked).
  2. From the top-right corner of your screen, swipe down.
  3. Right now, you should see a grid of buttons. That is your Command Centre.
  4. On the right, you’ll find the brightness slider. Swipe across it, up or down, to use it.
  5. Tap and hold the brightness slider to fine-tune your input.
  6. To increase or reduce the brightness, swipe up or down.
  7. Take a peek at the bottom as well. You can activate additional display choices here.
  8. Tap anywhere outside the Control Centre to return to your home screen.

Method #2. Via Settings App

There is another way to adjust the brightness of your iPhone, and that is through the Settings app. Here’s how it’s done.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down a little. Then select’Display & Brightness.’
  3. The brightness slider will now appear. Move it to the left or right.
  4. Moving the slider to the left reduces the brightness of your screen.
  5. Moving the slider to the right increases the brightness.

Remember that your iPhone changes the brightness of its display automatically (by default) based on its ambient light sensors. In some circumstances, this function may hinder your phone from achieving its maximum brightness. In that situation, we recommend that you disable the functionality.

So, to prevent iOS from automatically increasing the brightness, go to the Settings app. Next, go to Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Scroll all the way to the bottom and turn the switch next to ‘Auto-Brightness.’ The switch should be turned ‘OFF.’

How to Enable/Disable Auto-Brightness on iPhone 13?

The instructions below also apply to turning auto-brightness on or off in other iOS devices running the newest iOS version, such as the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and prior iPhone models operating on the iOS 15.4 platform.

The following procedures are based on the iPhone 13’s redesigned user interface. Actual displays and menu items may differ depending on smartphone type and carrier.

Start anytime you’re ready to alter the auto brightness settings on your new iPhone 13.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings to launch the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down the Settings app menu and tap Accessibility. Another screen will appear, showcasing the accessibility features and options that have been preloaded.
  3. To proceed, locate and then tap Display & Text Size.
  4. Scroll down to Auto-Brightness and flick the switch next to it to allow or disable the auto-brightness feature on your iPhone.
  5. To enable auto-brightness, flip the switch ON, then tap to turn it OFF to disengage the feature.
  6. When using the iPhone in an open location or a dark room, instant changes in screen brightness will be evident.
  7. When auto-brightness is enabled, the iPhone will change the brightness of the display based on its surroundings. While this may be convenient, it may also cause the battery to drain faster.
  8. To make your iPhone screen dimmer or brighter, disable this feature.

When Should You Enable iPhone Auto-Brightness?

Aside from ocular benefits, setting auto-brightness might help you save battery life.

As long as auto-brightness is enabled, you can be confident that your phone will not consume extra battery power because screen brightness will be automatically adjusted based on the current surroundings.

This results in increased battery life, as well as a longer duration of use for your iPhone before it needs to be recharged.
