Microsoft Edge is talking to you like a real person. Edge sounds alarming as a real person. You can now read Microsoft Edge websites aloud using voices that are so natural that they can be mistaken for real people.
In the latest Edge Insider builds, the new voices are included, and we expect it to appear in the release version very soon. Take either the Developer or Canary build, navigate to a site, select a piece of text, right-click and click’ Read aloud selection.’

You will have to choose from different voices. Some of these sound a bit clunky and robotic, but the fresh alternatives denoted the amazingly lifelike sound of ‘ online. ‘ “Powered by profound neural networks, these voices are today’s most natural sounding voices,” according to Microsoft.

If you have dyslexia or vision impairment, a talking browser can make daily internet browsing much easier. If you’re learning a second language, it can also be useful, or just have your hands full and want to catch up on the news while you’re busy with something else.
